So, it’s finally summer again. I’m back from Guatemala, which was an amazing experience yet again. I’d say it was even better the second time. (Check out the blog here: http://www.cucinguatemala.blogspot.com) Memorial Day weekend was spent mostly in transit, but it was okay because a lot of that was with the handsome man in the picture.
I thought it would be a little easier to be apart from him now that we are not in expectant limbo and are officially together, but I was wrong. It’s just as hard as ever. That’s not to say that I don’t plan on enjoying myself this summer, but it sucks to know that I’d be enjoying myself that much more if he were with me.
Another thing that just adds to the load is that I’m not just missing him. I’m also missing the environment and type of person that he represents in my life. Concordia Chicago is an amazing place and I am realizing more and more how awesome God is in the fact that he placed me there at that school. I have grown in my faith so much, and so it’s difficult to come back here to my hometown and see how nothing else has changed at all.
On the plus side, I know God is everywhere and He will be my strength through this. I can feel Him as strongly here as I did in Guatemala, and I’m super excited to really delve into His Word in the upcoming months.
